Hems, adjustments, repairs and pieces made for you — in the workshop at Centre Mercado, Monday to Saturday.
The garment you already own, in your size.
An alteration starts with the garment, not with a price. We look at it with you: the cut, the fabric, the seams and how much seam allowance is left. Then we tell you what is possible, what is not, and what it will cost. The work is then done here, in the workshop at Centre Mercado.
We also work made-to-measure, when nothing off the rack sits right. And we take in clothes bought elsewhere — that is most of what comes through the workshop. To have the same piece cleaned, washed or pressed, see dry cleaning & pressing.
Adjustments
The garment brought to your measurements.
Hems
Trousers, skirt or dress: taken up at the original hem, blind-stitched or invisible, depending on the fabric.
Waist & shaping
A waist taken in or let out, a back shaped: the cut follows your body.
Sleeves & shoulders
Shirt or jacket sleeves shortened, reset at the armhole when the cut requires it.
Repairs & bespoke
What gets repaired, and what gets made.
Zips
Trouser, skirt, dress or jacket zip replaced, in the closest matching shade.
Linings & repairs
A torn lining, an open seam, a worn pocket, a snag: repaired where the piece allows.
Made-to-measure
Measurements taken, fabric chosen with you, then the piece is made in the workshop. Quoted on request.
Alteration prices
The work we are asked for most. The final price is confirmed in the shop, depending on the garment, the fabric and the work involved.

Before you bring your garment in
Three questions we are asked every time.
How long does it take?
It depends on the piece, on the work asked for and on what is already in the workshop. We give you a date when you drop the garment off, once we have looked at it — we would rather not promise anything before we have seen the piece.
Should I bring the shoes?
For a trouser, skirt or dress hem, yes: the right length depends on the heel. Bring the shoes you will wear with it and we pin the hem on you.
Do you work on clothes bought elsewhere?
Yes, and that is most of what comes through the workshop. Bring the piece in: we look at the cut, the fabric and the existing seams, and tell you what is possible.
